The texts come in two varieties, the one kind being texts with references to which grammar to learn, the other kind being texts without that. I ended up purchasing the set from ACMRS for $45. This beautifully produced book.with its very useful glossary of 203 pages, a detailed and yet clear-cut grammar and the texts, each with an extra word-list, should be an ideal introduction to modern Icelandic.
